1965 Mustang Fastback Restomod - Project Raven
First off I know this isn't an MR2, but it is one of my rides and a current project of the shop. I picked this car up about 8 or 9 years ago or something like that in decent driving and good exterior condition. The car had the fiberglass body panels already and was a real head turner. After owning the car for about two weeks I got it in our shop to do an oil change and I decided to replace the pan gasket while I was at it (decent oil leak). While under the car with the pan off I felt the rods and noticed they had movement... I immediately said, "Dad, umm... I don't think these are supposed to have this kind of play." He came over and verified that I had a very worn out 70's block 302. So I parked the car after about two weeks of enjoying driving one of the most eye catching cars I've ever sat rear in. We quickly noted that the bondo from the side scoop addition wasn't holding up well, and so we decided it needed a repaint too. We discussed our options and since it isn't an original, why not restomod?! So this is the project... details on the build as we progress.
I took these pictures the day we picked up the car...
