1985 MR2 update 13
I've been driving the car for several months off-and-on with no serious issues. Car runs great and smooth but the car has developed an exhaust leak so I'll be investigating this later this week. Have the 1,500 + break in miles on the car and it handles like a dream and everything is tight and smooth. Only suspension issue I noted was the front strut mounts could stand to be replaced, but I only noticed when driving down a long dirt super rough driveway, I never hear rattles or noises up there when I'm driving on roads/highways. Not a big issue, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
Just installed a nicer gray interior 86 sunroof car sun visor set (cloth rather than the plastic type material, looks good in there and color matches nice! old set was really flimsy and pretty nappy looking). Installed the nicest set of door sill strips I had in stock (look good, old ones had a little white overspray so I replaced them with a nice clean set). Installed pair of good seatbelt retractors (pretty hard to find unbroken, most cars have them broken off or even partially missing). Replaced trunk carpet (smelled of stale beer or maybe something else that was spilled in the trunk... ripped the old stinky nasty carpet out and replaced with carpet from an 87-89... fitment isn't perfect but it looks good and is definitely passable).
