1985 MR2 Update 9

Got going really after it putting the lower end together... I only got a to-date finished product shot of the motor (pan is on the bottom by the way and oil pump is on the front too), don't think Dad has the patience to let me take pictures while I could be working on something instead!

Just to share the parts "warehouse" status... note not everything is in place yet and one more (shorter length-wise) shelf will be going down the center with only 3 shelves to accommodate seats kept sitting upright and other taller items.

I think we have parts in stock from more than 10 different mk1 MR2's (or more).  Clearly not complete cars, but several complete ones, and this doesn't include the full interior I've kept aside for the 86 hardtop project and my garage is still piled with stuff too!  Oh, and I pick up another load of stuff tomorrow from 2 or 3 other cars!  Anyway, here are the two side shelves with a few feet to spare at the near side end.

and here is the other side...

And have you guys ever seen anything like this on a 4 cylinder header??  I know the mk1 headers are notorious to crack on the #4 runner but this is ridiculous!

Oh, we lucked out... the 89 we dropped the motor and transmission on yesterday (same one that had the header pictured above) apparently has had a LSD unit installed in it, so I've got an LSD transmission for the supercharged car now!  Upcoming project when we get to sprucing up the supercharged car!  Not sure what brand or anything yet... I'm wanting to find out what I've got but we're too busy right now to mess with it.  I guess after parting 8 or 9 mk1's I was due a good upgraded part surprise find!  Maybe we should have opened up the motor before selling it cheap!

This is the car that is getting the aforementioned motor, along with a 20v header (slightly modified) he procured from my personal parts stash.  Nice part, I just hadn't needed it yet, but it is a ton lighter and nicer than the stock unit!!  You can see the motor in the background on the engine hoist and the old block in the picture down low too... Dad is bending over to pick something up out in the distance near the 85 this thread is supposed to be about :).

And lastly the three poor souls out back... two nearly torn down and motor-less, and one project waiting for some hardcore TLC and a healthy dose of fresh parts.  I told Mom I was thinking of opening an MR2 theme park and the kiddies could play on the rusty old parts cars (which sounds plenty safe to me).  The small building behind the cars is the waiting room for customers (kidding guys!!).  Mike is coming by Sunday I think he said, so we should have some more updated goodness soon so stay tuned!
